Safety center
A verified, even membership removes most of what goes wrong on dating apps. This is the rest: the tools you have inside One to One, and the habits worth keeping when you meet in person.
What's built into One to One
- Every member is verified. Government ID and a live selfie, before anyone can see them. How verification works.
- Every member is approved by a person before admission.
- Your exact location is never shown. Other members see your general area, nothing more.
- Your legal name and your document never appear anywhere on your profile.
Block and report
Block and report sit on every profile and every conversation. One tap. A block removes you from each other's world immediately.
Every report is read by a person, and serious ones are escalated the same day. You don't need to be certain something is wrong to report it. If it made you uncomfortable, tell us.
Meeting in person
Verification tells you someone is who they say they are. It doesn't replace your own judgement. For a first meeting:
- Meet somewhere public, busy and familiar to you.
- Tell a friend or family member where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be back.
- Get yourself there and back. Keep your own transport options open.
- Keep your phone charged, and keep your drink with you.
- Leave whenever you want. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
How to spot a romance scam
Romance scams follow a pattern, and the pattern is worth knowing even on a verified app:
- They move fast: intense attention, big feelings, early plans for a future together.
- They want to move the conversation off One to One quickly.
- There's always a reason they can't meet or video call yet.
- Eventually there's an emergency, an investment, a fee or a ticket, and they need money.
Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or financial information to anyone you meet on One to One, whatever the reason given. Asking for money is against our standards. Report it, and we'll act on it.
Protect your privacy
- Keep your home address, workplace and financial details to yourself until you know someone well.
- Think twice before sharing photos you wouldn't want seen more widely.
- Your profile shows only what you choose to put on it. Read the privacy notice for everything we collect and why.
If you're in danger
If you're in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number first. Then tell us, so we can act on the account.
For anything else, report it in the app or write to hello@onetooneapp.com.
