The ratio
Yes, as an admissions rule. For every man we admit to One to One, we admit a woman. When one side runs ahead, applications from that side wait until the other side catches up. We hold it city by city, so the balance you're promised is the balance around you. More on the ratio.
Because of the ratio. If we admitted everyone who applied, we'd be lopsided within a week, like every other app. You wait until there's someone on the other side to admit alongside you.
It depends on your city and which side of the ratio you're on. We'll tell you where you stand rather than leaving you guessing.
We're opening across the United States first. The ratio is held city by city, so a city comes alive as soon as there are enough members on both sides for it to work there. Join the waitlist and you'll be first in when yours does.
Anyone over 18 who can verify their identity and agrees to our standards. At launch, One to One admits men and women looking to meet each other; that is what one woman for every man describes.
Verification and privacy
Because it's the only way to promise that everyone here is a real, adult person. It applies to every member without exception, and you can't pay to skip it. How verification works.
It goes to our specialist verification partner, not to us. We keep the result, a reference number and the date. Not your documents, not your biometrics. No member ever sees any of it.
No. A person reviews each application for completeness and intent, not attractiveness. We're checking that you're here for the same reason everyone else is.
No. Other members see your general area, never your exact location. Your legal name and your document never appear anywhere.
No, we don't sell your data. The privacy notice has the full picture.
Using One to One
Interest is how you tell someone you'd like to know them; when it's mutual, the conversation opens. Super Interest is the rare one. It tells someone you made a deliberate effort to reach them, and it arrives at the top of what they see.
No. You get a set number of Interests each month, because attention that's unlimited stops meaning anything. When Interest is mutual, the conversation opens, and either of you can speak first.
Your profile is removed. Holding an even ratio only works if the members on both sides are actually present, so we don't keep a place open for a profile that's gone quiet. You're welcome back any time, but you'll reapply and join the waitlist like everyone else.
Block and report sit on every profile and every conversation. Every report is read by a person, and serious ones are escalated the same day. Visit the safety center.
Membership and your account
Founding members join free. There'll be a paid membership later, and we'll tell you the price before we ever ask you for it. Verification and every preference stay free on every plan.
Through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, in a few taps. There's a shortcut to it in the app under Settings, nothing to email us about, and nobody will try to talk you out of it. You keep your membership until the end of the period you've already paid for and it won't renew after that. Cancelling doesn't delete your account, that's a separate choice you can make any time.
Yes, any time. In the app, members go to Settings, then Account, then Delete account, and if you haven't joined yet, tap Delete my account on your status screen. It happens straight away. Or email hello@onetooneapp.com from the address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete my account", and we'll delete it within 45 days. How deleting works, and what we keep.
Some people just align.
An even membership, everyone approved, everyone verified. Join the waitlist and we'll write the moment a place opens in your city.
